Administration
Strathdon Community provides a number of administrative services aimed at ensuring quality aged care is provided to the community

Admissions & Assessment:

The main Reception office and the Director of Residential Services and Care handle enquiries for access to accommodation at Strathdon Community.  Staff do their best to provide a welcoming environment for older people and their families where they can feel comfortable to talk about their circumstances, accommodation needs or other issues with which they would like support.

Enquiries regarding Aged Residential Accommodation and services are managed through Reception staff.

WHO WE ARE
Uniting Aged Care is the largest provider of aged care services in Victoria and Tasmania. It offers a continuum of care for the aged with a full range of services being provided. Uniting Aged Care is an organisation of
the Uniting Church in Australia, Synod of Victoria and Tasmania.

The Uniting Church in Australia was established in 1977 with the union of Methodist, Presbyterian and Congregational churches. It is a church of inter-related councils with the Assembly at the national level, Synods at regional or state level, presbyteries at the district level and congregations at the local level. In June 2002 the Synods of two separate states merged to become the Synod of Victoria and Tasmania.

It is a Christian church organisation that shares in the Judaic-Christian vision of a just and participatory society, in which all people, no matter of their age, gender, sexuality, ability, class, colour, creed or cultural origins, are treated justly as one people.

Engaging the Church with the world through services to the community provides us with the opportunity to live out the Christian vision.

Uniting Aged Care was established as a separate entity within the Synod in July 2004, to assist the Uniting Church in meeting the challenge of ministry to its aged care clients, through the provision of quality holistic care. Uniting Aged Care is also part of the Uniting Church's UnitingCare network.

OUR VISION
To work together to ensure that Uniting Aged Care is a leader in the provision of creative options for the elderly. In doing so we seek to value the individual and build community.

OUR VALUES
• faith • respect • choice • social justice and equity
• responsiveness • environment and participation
• community development and capacity building
• stewardship of resources

OUR FUTURE
By 2021 the proportion of Australians aged over 65 years will increase from 2.4 million to 4.2 million. Australia will need expanded, robust and effective aged care services and programs that are responsive to individual and community needs. Innovative and accessible options for older Australians and their families will need to be identified, planned and developed to achieve mutually satisfying outcomes.

Uniting Aged Care Victoria & Tasmania has addressed these key trends and areas of unmet needs by formulating a set of working objectives designed to take the organisation into the future:

To provide high quality and accessible aged care
To deliver financial viability
To provide a continuum of care services
To optimise organisational capability
To build pride in our people and communities
To provide unmet aged care needs.
