Bequests |
| |
 |
| |
It was a gift of land in January 1961 from the Matheson
family that began Strathdon Community.
Today, through its Nursing Home,
Hostels and Independent
Living Units, Strathdon is home to more than 240 men and women
in their later years.
Also, through non-residential care services, Strathdon offers a
comprehensive network of support for the aged and their families
and carers. |

 |
Our Challenge . . . |
| |
Our region desperately
needs more aged care services and facilities. Strathdon is expanding
to help meet the needs of the future. With almost 60% of the region’s
population aged over 55 years and projections indicating significant
future increases in this age group, the situation is critical.
Over 1500 people living in the region are now availing themselves
of Strathdon’s services. As our aged population continues to increase,
as shown in the following diagram, so the demand for our services
and facilities is set to soar. |

Our Response: |
| |
Strathdon has always been
a forward looking community. Its response to this quite critical situation
has been a major redevelopment and refurbishment program, which has
transformed Strathdon’s Hostel and Nursing Home into a modern, purpose
designed residential complex. |
| |
| |
The redevelopment has been
made possible through wise stewardship. However, it will still take
a community contribution and dedicated gifting to support our future
and maintain our mission. |

Caring About Tomorrow Through Your Will |
| |
A bequest to Strathdon Community
is a thoughtful and extremely valuable means of showing that you care
about the aged people of tomorrow. It offers a real opportunity
to leave a final testament that will ensure your values live on. |

|
 |
Joy In Generosity |
| |

|
Jack
Faichney, during his lifetime, was a great supporter of Strathdon.
He also cared about the people of tomorrow and left a generous
bequest to Strathdon Community.
The spirit of Jack Faichney and
the reality of his gift will live on in the renaming of Hostel
15 as the Jack Faichney Memorial Hostel. |

Informing us of your decision
to include a bequest to Strathdon Community in your Will allows us
to plan ahead with confidence. It also gives us the opportunity to
say "thank you". |

Including Strathdon Community in your Will |
| |
If you have
decided to include Strathdon Community in your Will, we are most grateful.
Thank you.
The following wording is suggested as a guide for your legal adviser:
"I give (see Bequest Options
below) to Strathdon Community, 17 Jolimont Road,
Forest Hill in the State of Victoria for its general purposes* and
I direct that the receipt of the proper officer for the time being
of Strathdon Community shall be a good and sufficient discharge to
my Trustee/s."
*An insertion may be made at this point if you wish the bequest to
be used for a specific purpose or program, but a general bequest allows
Strathdon to meet its priority needs. |
| |
|
 |
