| Ann Kemp, a professional artist, has volunteered
many, many hours at Strathdon painting a beautiful mural on
an otherwise long, plain fence. Ann has managed to incorporate
many aspects of Strathdon into her painting. People specially
take a walk past the mural as it is so inspiring. Ann's children
have assisted with painting as has one of our Hostel residents.
Thank you to Strathdon Foothills Auxiliary for donating the
paint. |

Artist Anne Kemp has created a welcome detour at a Forest Hill aged-care
home and retirement village.
Kemp's mural on a 20m-long fence at Strathdon Community has residents,
staff and visitors walking out of their way to admire her handiwork.
Kemp donated hundreds of hours of her time to create the mural,
which features a landscape of trees, flowers, sky and mountains.
Strathdon Community's auxiliary, including Kemp's mother and Strathdon
resident Margaret Kemp, raised money to buy the materials needed
to create the mural.
"The mural fits in with the theme of nearby gardens, which
are English country-style gardens," Kemp said. "It includes
the pet therapy animals, Rex the dog and Bella, their cat. It was
an ugly fence, but it now has been transformed."
